As many of you may have heard, the Diane B. Allen Equal Pay Act, better known as the New Jersey Pay Equity Law, went into effect on July 1, 2018. This law is designed to ensure that all protected classes of employees are paid equally for substantially similar work. As business owners, this law stands to significantly affect your company processes and policies - especially those regarding HR including: hiring, compensation, performance reviews and documentation.
In addition, the New Jersey Paid Sick Leave Law will go into effect on October 29, 2018 which will require employers to provide eligible employees (including most part-time employees) with paid leave for their own medical needs, those of a family member, or other covered reasons.
SKC has made it a priority to apprise our clients of these laws. But what are the next steps? What actual changes do you need to make and what is the best way to implement them? What are your risks and vulnerabilities? How do you ensure compliance?
SKC worked with HR experts at Balance Point HRCM to develop a comprehensive webinar to address what you can and should be doing to stay compliant.
